His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said, “With all your money you give me a Bible?” and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book.
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care things. When he arrived at his father’s house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.
He began to search his father’s important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer’s name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words…PAID IN FULL.

مرد جوان با كنجكاوي اما كمي نااميد،جعبه را باز كرد و كتاب مقدس انجيل با پوست چرمي را ديد .با عصبانيت صدايش را روي پدرش بلند كرد و گفت: با اين همه پولت،به من انجيل ميدهي؟ و با بجا گذاشتن كتاب مقدس اتاق را ترك كرد
سالهاگذشت و مرد جوان در كارش خيلي موفق بود.او خانه اي زيبا و خانواده اي فوق العاده داشت اما پي برد پدرش خيلي پير شده است و فكر كرد شايد بايد سري به او بزند.او پس از روز فارغ التحصيلي،ديگر پدرش را نديده بود.قبل از اينكه مقدمات سفر را آماده كند،تلگرافي دريافت كرد كه خبر داد پدرش فوت كرده و تمام دارايي اش را به پسرش بخشيد.او بايد فورا به خانه ميرفت و مراقبت از اموال را بعهده ميگرفت.وقتي به خانه پدرش رسيد،يكباره ناراحت شد و از ژرفاي وجودش احساس پشيماني كرد.
او شروع به جستجوي مدارك مهم پدر كرد و كتاب انجيل را، دقيقا جايي كه سالها قبل آن را گذاشته بود، ديد.در حاليكه اشك ميريخت،كتاب را باز كرد و شروع به ورق زدن كرد.وقتي كلمات را ميخواند ، سوييچ ماشيني از لاي ورقهاي كتاب به زمين افتاد.
روي آن ،برچسبي با نام همان فروشنده بود ،همان فروشنده اي كه ميخواست ماشين را از او بخرد.روي برچسب،تاريخ فارغ التحصيلي و جمله تماما پرداخت شد، نوشته بود
